Prof. Keith Scott-Mumby MD, MB ChB, PhD

Keith Scott-Mumby is an internationally-known British MD who now resides in the USA. His distinguished career as a leader in alternative medicine modalities has spanned almost 4 decades and earned him accolades from all continents of the Earth (yes, including Antarctica).

Through the 1970s to 1990s he was most noted as a leader in the emerging field of food allergies and environmental toxic overload. He started the first successful Food and Environmental Allergy Clinic in 1979 which rapidly spread to Harley St (London), Glasgow, Dublin and Stockholm. His numerous sensational media cases led to him being christened the world’s “Number One Allergy Detective” (Sunday Mail 199).

In 1986 he made medico-legal history in 1986, when a UK Crown Court accepted his evidence that food allergy was capable of making a youth murderously violent. It was a cause celebre which went around the world when it was learned that the boy was Irish and the main food which provoked his dangerous rages was a potato allergy.

He now writes and lecture internationally, especially on the themes of toxic overload and allergies, energetic medicine and the new anti-ageing science (see www.alternative-doctor.com ). His paradigm-bending book VIRTUAL MEDICINE was published in 1999 and is noted for bringing science and validation to this emerging field and the vast technology it has spawned.

He was appointed professor of energy medicine at the Capital University of Integrative Medicine (now demised) and professor of nutrition at the Open International University for Complementary Medicines. He is vice-chancellor and on the Senate of the latter. He was also on the faculty at the California Institute for Human Sciences, a pioneering state-registered university.

In 2003 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Practitioners in Colombo* where he lived and worked for a time, in recognition of his work in alternative and complementary medicine.

In addition to his other awards, he is a founding member of the British Society for Clinical Ecology (now the British Society for Nutrition, Allergy and Environmental Medicine)
